So it seems the only Republicans that … well, ummm the Republican party has room for … are the neo-conservative types who don’t question the party line. Sounds more like Nazi Germany than anything else …
Quote of the interview …
Moderator: “Is there anything about any of these two candidates that you like?”
Ron Paul: “No … not really.”
But alas … how is an issues guy like Ron Paul ever going to get an traction in a party consumed with trying to sell itself on perception and gimmickry. Heck, he doesn’t even own of those sweet “Hottest Governor in the Coolest State” buttons that is all the rage these days.
How come we don’t hear the two big parties talking about this? Could it be that we don’t hear this being debated because it’s an ACTUAL issue … or maybe its just that there isn’t really any fundamental differences between the two?
I’d especially love to hear from you hard-line Republicans. The party wants to project itself as the proponent of limited government, tax cuts and savior of “small town” middle-class America … ideals which I share (which probably explains why I’m still a Republican). But with a bailout of this magnitude … how can any party reasonably promise any real tax cuts? It seems to me that if anything, government today has grown just that much bigger … and at the expense of middle-class America who will have to pay for it!
And pay for it they will! Whether through standard taxation, or via the “inflation tax” where our dollars are devalued thanks to the federal government’s printing press or though things like the AMT. The poor have nothing to give … the very wealthy are too savvy and able to hide their monies offshore or otherwise exploit the tax system to their advantage. Someone will pay … and make no doubt about it … it is going to be the shrinking middle-class.
As a middle-class guy I’d like to know one thing …
But the real question is, “Who is going to get Hinn?” I thought Obama might want to nab a prime time backer like Benny but he seems to have already found an equally nutjob of a pastor!
